The location is pretty good, not in the city center but better than the center and has more local vibe. The house has two tatami rooms; the innermost one requires passing through the outer room to exit, which is inconvenient, especially at night because you don’t want to disturb the outer room yet it’s a necessary path. It’s fine for people who don’t stay overnight, but not suitable for seniors who have to walk around; this room type is best for a group of friends.

The place was spacious and the heating worked well in winter. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Some small extras like coffee, tea, a coffee machine, laundry detergent, flannels, tea towels, and a drying rack were missing or already used by a previous guest, which would have made the stay perfect. Finding the property was a bit tricky, but the owners helped. Families should note that the property isn’t reachable by car; a short 50 m walk through an alley is required.

Staying here was a delight! My family of four, with two kids aged 9‑11, needed two rooms, which wasn’t convenient, so we chose a homestay. After comparing many options, we booked Meida Genzu and it turned out to be the right choice. The transport links are excellent, the house is spacious with two bathrooms and showers, saving us time for bathing and washing. The kitchen is large and fully equipped with cookware and tableware, so we could make breakfast in the morning and a kid‑friendly dinner. There’s a washer, dryer, and a balcony for drying clothes, so we didn’t have to pack too many dirty garments. The customer service was fantastic, giving us detailed guidance before departure, checking in on our arrival, and staying in touch for several days to provide transport, dining, and activity tips. If I return to Osaka, I’ll stay here again and highly recommend it to travelers with similar needs; you won’t be disappointed. The only downside was that if the duvet cover were fully enclosed, it would prevent the duvet from slipping out.

The property was spotless and situated in a quiet spot right next to a subway stop, convenience stores, and restaurants, making it great for the Osaka metro but not the JR line. The host was very responsive, though they were not accurate about umbrellas we had bought beforehand, which could have saved time and money. The laundry machine is excellent, but having some instructions would have helped since we’re not familiar with Asian washer/dryer setups. The TV lacks casting capability, we had to buy cooking oil, the stairs are very narrow and short so you have to go very slowly, and we wished there were extra medium‑sized towels because only bath towels were provided.
