Breakfast was just stuff you could grab at a local gas station—honey buns, Danishes, and a few snack cakes, mostly junk food. The location was somewhat quiet, so we crossed the street to McDonald’s for a proper breakfast. Cats roamed the entire stairwell and the parking lot, and there was a strong smell of cat urine on the walkways.

The spot was handy for our trip, but the room was crawling with flies and I had to buy a fly swatter locally. Feral cats prowled outside our room in the morning, and a nasty stench came from nearby bushes. Breakfast didn’t live up to a Days Inn—there were way too many sweets.
