“Friendly staff, cute property, room needs upgrading.”
The property looked pretty and the staff were friendly, and the breakfast that was included was nice. But when I tried to find the place, the map led me to a different area of Pai, so I had to drive back and forth on that country road several times as it started to get dark. I eventually asked a local if he could help, and he called the hotel, which then gave me a new address and a different hotel name, which confused me. On arrival, the woman who checked me in was quite nice. The setting itself was a very pretty country location, but the room felt a bit off—like lipstick on a pig. It was clean, though there were a lot of ants shooting around, some crawling onto the bed and onto me. I'm not a skittish person and I know the place is next to fields, so I could deal with a few ants. The bathroom was clean and the shower was warm enough. The wall fan wire had been spliced twice, so I had to knock on the fan to get it to turn on; they really need a new fan. Breakfast was mostly self‑serve, nothing fancy but decent. Again, the staff were very welcoming and nice.
