“Mittelklasse-Hotel in einer tollen Lage.”
The location and staff were positives. The hotel sits on the 36th floor of a building with three 52‑storey towers next to each other, and there’s no sign of a hotel on the building or entrance. The building only has rented apartments, and the hotel itself is on the 36th floor. If you’re not told beforehand, there’s no chance to find it right away. The building has 12 elevators, and in peak season there were times when you waited up to half an hour, but we were lucky to be there in September and caught the elevators quickly. The rooms are worn out. The toilet was crooked, the shower drain was clogged, and the shower hose was screwed on backwards. Cleaning was good, and we were even told we had thrown away T‑shirts—was that intentional? Breakfast was terrible. We’d never eaten so badly. No sausage or cheese, just buckwheat and boiled sausages every morning, with only toast and croissants. The coffee was inedible. Alternatives were black tea and juice. You can skip the breakfast and eat something tasty outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The ladies worked hard to accommodate guests. It’s a shame that management lets a hotel in such a great location fall apart. The view from the 36th‑floor balcony makes up for everything. The view of the bustling city and the sea is stunning. On weekends it’s very loud, even with the balcony door closed, but you’re in the city and can party on your room. The area in front of the hotel has many bars, restaurants, malls, and the beach, all within walking distance. We can’t recommend the hotel with a clear conscience based on our experience. A lot needs to be done.
