The location is far from the center. Getting to the corner of the street requires walking on an unlit path. The hotel is old, outdated and neglected.
“Hermosa vista”
Paying by card worked ✅️, the terrace and the view were green 💚, the common kitchen area was awesome 👌, but the room had no TV.
“no lo recomiendo”
The manager and receptionist were really friendly and they swapped my mattress for a softer one, but the hotel is far from the centre; the original mattress was too hard even after they changed it, the toilet and shower are cracked, you can hear every chat from the shared kitchen, there’s no air‑conditioning, fridge or safe in the room, the toilet makes a loud “glu glu glu” draining sound that wakes you, you can hear another guest’s shower running, the low water level in Lake Atitlán leaves lots of algae and vegetation that smell bad when they don’t dry, the lake view from the balcony isn’t as impressive as expected, the surrounding area is littered with vacant or under‑construction lots, the place feels pretty empty with few guests, the hallway lights are off at night giving a sad, abandoned vibe, and on the last night a spider jumped on me and another bug woke me up scared.
The views and the large terrace were great.
The hotel was simple and nice, great value for money. Daniel and his colleagues were lovely. I loved the location and the view of the lake. The restaurant at the top was very nice too
