“Good Location, Comfortable Bedroom, Kitchen Needs TLC”
Convenient for strolling around town or using the Erie Canal Trail, and it’s only a five‑minute bike ride. Parking at the rental was easy. The bedroom is decorated with many artistic touches, offers plenty of storage, has operable windows for fresh air, and efficient AC. There’s an operable window in the kitchen that opens onto black curtains, but no AC there. Many handwritten notes with instructions help guests out. The plug‑in air fresheners were so strong I got sick; I unplugged them immediately, yet the scent lingered. I kept my stuff packed away to avoid the smell sticking to anything. The place is very clean, no need to cover up. After all the attention to detail in the bedroom and hallway, I was surprised that the kitchen was so inadequate. A plastic folding table is not stable enough and the metal folding chairs are uncomfortable. No kitchen tools except a can opener. I had to slice a bagel with a plastic knife, as only plastic ware is available. The bare‑minimum appliances are a mini fridge, microwave, and small coffeemaker; a toaster would be nice. Lots of knickknacks take up space in the kitchen. Clean and cute, but I prefer more counter space. There’s no comfortable place to sit in the entire unit (only one wooden straight‑back chair in the bedroom). Every rental needs at least one comfy couch or chair. The bed was great, but it doesn’t replace seating. Some outdoor seating would add a nice touch.
