“Well received by owner, kind good hearted lady.”

The spot’s location works well, and the owner welcomed me warmly. I’m aware the water situation is a problem and we’re supposed to conserve, but I’d rather not dump buckets or bottles into the toilet; the price I paid doesn’t feel right for that. Maybe a small water tank linked to the toilet would help.

“I’d rather be burnt at the stake for the billionth time than stay here again.”

Cute street cats. Cute view from the rooftop. Semi comfortable bed. The place is lovely. The host is not. No wonder you can’t switch a light on unless she tells you you can because she switches up mentally more than load shedding. I was not even allowed to turn the geyser on as she doesn’t shower. Very invasive with having gone through my bags more than once. Relentlessly complained about previous tenants 1 hour after I checked in. Not to mention going through my things and throwing all my personal belongings on the floor to “change the bedding” for the new guest she didn’t tell me was moving into the room I had paid for

“It was pleasant, convenient and served it’s purpose.”

There was no breakfast, but the host was very kind and offered biscuits, tea, and coffee in the morning. The water in the toilet is a bit problematic, but Cape Town is experiencing a drought.

Whoever is advertising this place must be very unfair. The area feels unsafe; after 3 am I didn’t want to take a taxi to this street. The place is unacceptable, with the biggest problem being cockroaches. The photos that were advertised look nothing like what I found. I left without asking for a refund; I advise anyone to keep their eyes open before booking and paying. Please! Regards, Js

“Good.”

The host was supportive and friendly. The location was very convenient for me. Check‑in and check‑out times were flexible. The place exists 😀. The only downside was the restrictions on water use and the fact that only cold water was available for baths, although the host addressed this after I informed her.
