The hotel is family‑run, with decent rooms and a very good spot right in the village. It’s especially convenient if you want to tackle local trails, like the trek to Lake Drakolimni. The place is very quiet, and from the rooms you get impressive views of the Tymfi massif, probably one of its biggest strengths. The receptionist was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the stay. The breakfast felt a bit basic, and in my room the shower support was broken, making showering somewhat uncomfortable. There’s no parking at the hotel itself, but about 200 metres up the hill you can leave your car at a plot. Papingo is pretty and well‑located for some routes, but it seemed more touristy and less authentic than other Zagori villages like Aristi, where I also stayed during the trip.

The room was cramped, with no place to sit. There was no coffee or tea, and no air conditioning, which was a problem during this time.

It was a very atmospheric and cozy spot. The family‑run business had owners who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Air conditioning would have been a nice addition, but it wasn’t essential; the fan did the job.
