“Really disappointing”
The rooms were really smelly, and once we arrived the power went out completely. I tried calling the owner several times and only he answered. We booked another hotel. The next day only the owner came to fix the electricity and asked us to check in, but we didn’t want a refund and he said he couldn’t give one. It literally cost RM4++ for 3 rooms and 2 nights, so this hotel is a big no for families. If you have any other availability at other hotels, maybe you could consider this instead!
The surrounding area was nice, but the room itself was uncomfortable; the bathroom was small, though still acceptable.
My room was very clean, organized, and truly peaceful.
“Enjoy”
I chose the strategy location, but it gets a bit quiet at night and especially around midnight, which feels a bit creepy.
“Ужасный опыт. Из-за этого всё впечатление о городе было испорчено.”
We stayed together for two nights in a room on the third floor where the window faced the common corridor, not the street. There was no fresh air flow in either the corridor or the room—no windows and only a main entrance on the first floor—so oxygen was essentially nonexistent and breathing felt impossible. The heat was intense because there was no air conditioning or even a fan in the corridor. In the room, which looked more like a partitioned section of the corridor, there was an ancient, dirty air conditioner that either didn’t work or blasted cold air directly onto the bed. The bedding was worn to holes, with fingers slipping through the holes and tearing further. Instead of a blanket for two, there was a single small, torn synthetic rag with sharp fuzz. The place was very dirty, the renovation was old, walls had stains, ants crawled along the walls, and the walls were thin. In a similar room the night before, a couple had stayed; we could even hear their footsteps. Check‑in was self‑service, so I only saw one person at the reception desk. I asked him for a blanket, but he didn’t speak English and it turned out he spoke Burmese. When I asked through a translator, he said he didn’t know anything and couldn’t help, so I never understood whether he worked there or was just passing by. Unfortunately, payment was required in advance, no staff were available to negotiate a refund or improve conditions for an extra fee, and the automated messages from Booking were the only communication. The price was average for the city, so we had to endure three nights. I would never recommend this experience; we’re seasoned travelers who have seen a lot and are not picky, but this was the first time we encountered such a situation.
