“Wir würden wieder kommen!”

We were whisked away right after our tour and taken by boat to the island, arriving at 19:30 and still getting a fantastic meal. Because it was freezing at night, they handed us hot water bottles, so we slept soundly. Breakfast and lunch were delicious. The Uros Islands tour was worthwhile, and the son spoke English very well. The return transfer to Puno was arranged to our liking and we were dropped off at our requested spot. The whole family was very courteous and friendly, making it a great stay!

The view was stunning and the lake’s tranquility was a real treat. The family owning the island were also very kind and accommodating.

The Uros Islands tour was nice, the food was okay, and the room view is naturally great. The boat transfer worked well. However, everything felt massively overpriced for what you get. The accommodation is shabby, unclean, dusty everywhere. The whole island looks untidy, with items scattered around. The provided heater didn’t work or wasn’t explained, so it was very cold. During our stay there was no shower water, just a few drops from the sink tap. The bathroom is a disaster overall. We didn’t feel comfortable and left earlier than planned, with no compensation from the host.

“A remarkable place and wonderful family”

We had a wonderful time with Eddie and his family, who truly took care of us. It was a pleasure choosing this place, and being surrounded by such a lovely Uros family was nice. The food was great, especially the soup. Loved this spot.

“Abenteuerliche Erfahrung”

Great location right in the middle of the lake. The owners are very caring and the food is tasty! You learn that we’re very privileged here. The rooms are huge! What might have been unclear: for Uros, running water, electricity, and heating aren’t guaranteed. It snowed at night and there was no heating. A small gas stove exists but it doesn’t warm the room, and it can’t run at night for safety. Our first accommodation had no water, so we had to switch. Warm water only comes on sunny days. The sink was unusable for our friends; water dripped into the bathroom and straight onto the toilet. There was a power outage, fortunately fixed. The bathroom has a camping toilet, which you should know about, and it doesn’t smell like flowers. We were honestly unprepared for the situation and had to worry about how to survive the cold night, though we did receive a hot water bottle.
