The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful! We had everything we needed to unwind over the weekend, the hot tub offered a great view of the canal, and there were plenty of seating options for different vibes. The lodge felt cozy and was fully equipped.

We loved everything: the host, the cabin, the location. Liz, our host, was warm and welcoming, kept us updated from the moment we booked, and was available whenever we got a bit lost. The place was private with a lovely deck overlooking the canal, surrounded by trees and sunshine. The cabin itself was amazing—high bed, fresh linen, comfy pillows, a well-equipped kitchen, and a tiny bathroom with a double shower that was clean and beautifully presented. We were disappointed we couldn't use the small burner inside, but we look forward to trying it next winter. The cabin had many thoughtful touches, like hoof prints on the deck that woke us up pleasantly. The outdoor area was fantastic: the hot tub, positioned on the side for privacy, was an Eco tub that was easy to start; we relaxed there at sunset with a drink while watching bats feed above the canal. The fire pit was ideally placed for visibility from all areas, and lighting it in the evening made it cozy. The barbecue was great and we had the best meal on it. The hammock was a nice addition, and the small decking on the side was lovely—perfect for hours of sun or shade, overlooking the canal with occasional barges passing. A large shrub between us and the canal attracted butterflies all day, and the cabin was surrounded by butterflies and dragonflies, which was simply incredible.

The place was very private with amazing scenery. I don’t think you could come here if you don’t drive, in terms of shops, but that is part of the experience being far away.
