“部屋、料理満足。”
I enjoyed the open-air bath in my room. They told us that every room offered a panoramic view, but the room I stayed in was at the very back and I couldn’t see the scenery, which was disappointing.

We loved it here! We’re staying in Japan for three weeks, traveling all over the country, and this place blew us away! The scenery, the staff, and the attentiveness were 10/10. My husband and I don’t drink alcohol, and they didn’t even flinch, instead offering us special non‑alcoholic drinks throughout our stay. I have a dairy allergy, and they took amazing care to ensure all meals were safe. We loved it so much! The only downside was the travel distance: it took us a total of 7 hours on multiple trains and buses in the rain, but it was well worth it once we got there.

There was a private rotenburo on the balcony, an amazing view from the balcony, and the kaiseki and breakfast were fantastic. I really appreciated the whole experience with tatami mats and kimonos to wear during the stay. I can’t think of anything particularly negative.

The view and the friendliness of the staff were great. They explained the overall experience, from dinner and breakfast times to where things were and what could be requested. It wasn’t a downside for us, but for some the location can be a bit away from the main area and attractions of Hakone.
