I got what I paid for at this place - it's super cheap and the location is perfect, just a short walk to all the main areas. But, be prepared for some basic amenities to be lacking. There's no free water, no toothbrush or toothpaste, and the hot water was out for a couple of days. The air-con cleaner didn't show up for the first two days, and then it was just me and the rubbish bags outside my room for the rest of the week.

The hotel's central location was a major plus, with Malioboro Street just a short walk away. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference to our stay. However, the bathroom left a lot to be desired - it was only superficially cleaned, with visible calcium deposits and a showerhead that was seriously grimy. It was a shame, as the rest of the hotel showed promise.

This place is a gem - the cleanliness is seriously impressive. I mean, I've stayed in some decent hotels before, but this one takes the cake. The room was spotless, the bathroom was sparkling, and the whole place just felt really well-maintained. I'm not sure what else to say, because honestly, that's the only thing that really stood out to me - but what a great thing it is.

I've stayed at Alena three times now, and it still lives up to my high expectations. The front desk staff are super friendly and good-looking, I'd even consider asking them out if they weren't always working. The hotel itself is spotless and comfortable, with all the facilities working properly, and the best part is its proximity to Malioboro without the noise, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. It's already great, but I guess that's just the standard here.

I was really pleased with the hotel's peaceful atmosphere, it was like a little oasis in the midst of the bustling city. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the real letdown was the bedding - it was dirty and really put a damper on my stay. The room itself was clean and tidy, but the state of the bedding was a major issue. Overall, it was a bit of a mixed bag, but the peaceful vibe made up for some of the other shortcomings.
