“Прекрасное, гостеприимное и безопасное место в Гондоре”
We were thrilled with our stay in Gondar. Even before checking in we felt we had made the right choice. Simon, the owner, had already sent us a detailed and caring message about the place, its quirks, and everything that might matter to us. He truly cared about our comfort and safety. When we arrived, Simon greeted us warmly, aiming not just to provide a comfortable stay but to showcase the city and surroundings, making our visit feel cozy and home‑like. He arranged a free city tour and an amazing mountain trek at no extra cost. Simon is a great conversationalist, and chatting with him was fascinating, learning more about Gondar, Ethiopia, and local life. We especially appreciated his care when my partner fell ill; Simon took the situation into his own hands, made a healing brew, brought tea and herbs each evening, and closely monitored his condition. Thanks to his attention, my partner recovered quickly. We left feeling like guests of a caring friend rather than ordinary hotel guests. We departed with a touch of sadness—not only for this wonderful place but for the person who made our stay so special. Thank you, Simon, for your hospitality, care, and warmth! We’ll definitely recommend this spot to other travelers. We arrived during the Orthodox fast period, and around 5‑6 am the prayers began. Until 9‑10 am it was very loud because the hotel sits between three churches competing over who can shout louder and who has the best speaker. Sleeping was impossible. Check the fasting schedule before you come :)
