“Friendly, safe and unique.”
The property is amazing and the room is unique. The staff and owners were very attentive and ready for any questions. The linen was obviously clean but had a couple of stains.

Not much to say positively. The room had a toilet and bath with no privacy. The linen and towels were stained and there were no mattress or pillow protectors. The room was dark because the window louvers couldn’t be opened. It was dirty, ants everywhere, and it was a shock to the system.

The location is central and the historic building has potential. 1. Parking: no easy access for secure parking; the padlock was hard to open from outside, there was no lighting, no exterior lighting from the parking to the house, rotten fruit on the path, plastic items along the edges that serve no purpose, are unattractive and a tripping hazard, plus dog poop in the parking area and garden. 2. Outside seating near the hot tub: none of the lights worked, cigarette butts everywhere, broken decor items, and the hot tub should be removed because it was disgusting and hadn’t been cleaned in months. 3. Stoep: no light switch for guests to turn the light on or off, overlooking a garden refuse pile. 4. Entrance hall: a broken floorboard as you enter—could be covered by a non‑slip mat; all rooms had padlocks instead of functioning door locks, giving the impression of serious security issues. 5. Room: the door didn’t stay closed properly, the wardrobe door kept swinging open while it was used for storage of linens—stuffed full of bedding and pillows, leaving no space to unpack or hang belongings. No toilet paper in the room, no toilet paper in the shared toilet down the hall, water pipes leaking by the bath. Since the toilet is inside the room with only a curtain separating it from the bed, toilet spray should be provided. Window shutters do not open and the room was stuffy and hot. 6. Cleanliness was shocking—cobwebs in the room, dust, dirty marks on walls, the bath wasn’t clean, crockery and cutlery were terrible quality with very little surface space. Whoever manages this property is wasting money on the staff responsible for cleaning rooms and maintaining the grounds.

Jean welcomed us warmly and was very helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable. The large property is secure and pet friendly, and the garden is full of interesting decorations and ornaments. Some maintenance is needed, and there is no signage to common areas or private quarters.

Worst place I have ever stayed. Run down, dirty. Everything was bad.
