The room was quiet and very clean, and the breakfast omelette, which seems to be the norm in Gambia, was excellent. I felt guilty because I was the only guest, so the three staff members on a rota had nothing to do except hang around – I couldn't understand why they couldn't leave me alone, even though I had a key and didn't anticipate any problems.

The large bed was comfortable, the place was quiet and clean, but the GPS location was inaccurate. The reception was deplorable; the manager was absent all day and we were left alone with a housekeeper who didn’t speak English and kept redirecting us to the manager, who didn’t answer the phone until 17:00. The hotel was completely empty, the nearby shoreline had no beach, the surroundings were dangerous at night, traffic was heavy, the balcony furniture was in ruins, lunch was served without water or juice, the interior décor was non-existent and the vibe felt like a barracks. We had booked and paid for two nights but left on the first day.
