Commander Suites de Bohol

“A peaceful and memorable stay with outstanding hospitality.🙂”

I stayed at Commander Suites de Bohol and it was amazing—spotless, beautiful, and very peaceful. The cozy, relaxing vibe was perfect for unwinding. My wife reached out to the staff before I arrived and asked if they could do something special for my birthday; they went the extra mile and surprised me with a thoughtful gesture. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and their genuine hospitality made me feel right at home. ✨ Everything exceeded my expectations, and I had no complaints.

“A beautiful hotel with a wonderful atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff.”

The bungalow‑style villas were stunning, tastefully decorated with a pleasant, exotic scent throughout. The garden was lush and meticulously maintained daily by a gardener, and the pool stayed very clean with regular upkeep. Breakfasts were delicious and offered a wide variety of options. The staff were kind, warm, and always smiling. We arrived very early in the morning, and although check‑in was scheduled for the afternoon, our room was ready by 10:00 AM, which let us rest after a long journey—a huge plus! The location was ideal for us—about 7–10 minutes by scooter from Alona Beach. The hotel sits in a quiet, peaceful area, away from crowds, noise, and parties, so in the evenings you can relax and enjoy the stars in peace, with only the sound of crickets. Nearby are restaurants, a great French bakery, and a gym. This was definitely the best hotel we stayed at in the Philippines! The mini gym was in very poor condition—the equipment was worn out and sometimes difficult to use.

“Not worth the price”

The complex looked amazing with a big pool and nice garden, and the security guy was always there to help. Breakfast was good, and although it wasn’t listed on the menu, you could actually choose the type of eggs you wanted. However, the room price was way too high for what it offered. There was a terrible smell coming from the bathroom every night, and we stayed a week in room 109, needing to ventilate the room constantly to stay inside. The Wi‑Fi was really bad, giving us maybe 2 hours of working internet per day. The pool was only cleaned once during the week, so it was a bit dirty. The mattress was hard, water kept flowing from under the sink in the bathroom every day/night, and the shower head needed to be changed. The complex felt like a ghost town most of the time, and the staff were hard to find, so if you needed something you could ask nobody.

The hotel was truly lovely, with a large garden and a fantastic pool that looked especially beautiful in the evening with the palm trees. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The rooms were bright, the bed very large, the bathroom lovely, and everything was spotlessly clean. We really loved it here. The large gate shielded us from the hustle and bustle, letting us enjoy the peace and quiet of the garden. Next to the hotel is a small café selling good coffee and pastries (croissants, etc.), and there’s a gym right next to that. You can quickly reach all the beaches and the 7‑Eleven by scooter, and there are plenty of restaurants along the street.
