The owner was genuinely friendly, the accommodation turned out cleaner than expected, and the sea view from the window was refreshing; the bedding was generous and comfortable. I had booked for two nights but had to leave after one due to circumstances, which was disappointing. I’ll definitely return when I visit Donghae again. I couldn’t find any shortcomings with the lodging; it was a pleasant trip!

I couldn’t point out any particular strengths of the hotel or pension. Apart from being close to Mangsang Beach, there’s little to praise; without a car, even reaching the beach on foot is inconvenient.

I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I was let down when I arrived in Gangneung: it’s far from the center, the room differs from the site description, it’s uncomfortable, and there’s nothing for a restful stay. I couldn’t turn off the floor heating, couldn’t sleep, and no staff could help. After this letdown I checked trip.com and found many better options at the same price (the price was high), so I’ll use trip.com from now on.
