Everything about The Family Tree was fabulous. A large car park meant plenty of parking space. We stayed in the king room, which had an extremely comfortable bed and was exceptionally clean. The cold breakfast could be taken inside or at a garden table; it was served on a tray for two with cereals, fresh fruit (chopped strawberries, raspberries, blueberries), a banana, an apple or orange, a jug of orange juice, a jug of apple juice, a bowl of plain yoghurt, honey, and the absolutely fabulous raspberry croissants. There were teas and coffees, and an excellent selection of hot breakfast items made from quality produce. All staff were smartly dressed and very friendly. The Family Tree also serves as a stop for walkers and a café/day‑time restaurant. We didn’t see the menu, but we saw all the “to die for” cakes on display. Too full after breakfast to try any! The room had a good selection of hot drinks, a small packet of biscuits each day, a selection of bottled drinks, a bottle of wine, packets of crisps, and a fridge with chocolate bars available for purchase if desired. You won’t go hungry here.

We absolutely adore the clean and beautiful rooms here, and we found nothing to complain about.

We were completely enamored with our stay at the Family Tree; everything surpassed what we had imagined, and we’re grateful for that.

This well‑run family B&B offers stylish rooms and sits in a great spot for visiting Crich tram museum, Heage windmill, and Arkwrights Cromford mill, plus most parts of the Peak District are within 20 miles; it’s a popular choice for breakfast and lunch, and the accommodation is tucked behind the main building, away from A6 noise. The only downside is the lack of evening meals, though other options exist within 3 miles.
