“Worst Hotel I Ever Stayed In”
The first day, the staff were helpful, but it turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The first night was fine, but after that the room smelled like cigarette smoke, with guests in the adjacent room smoking and the odor coming through the air‑conditioning. I asked for a room change, yet the new room still had cigarette scent. Smoking seemed widespread, with guests and staff smoking near the entrance. Other issues were no soundproofing, no refrigerator, no English‑language TV channels, and Wi‑Fi that failed for two days. Even after changing rooms, my key card didn’t work, forcing me to walk back from the third floor to reception. The staff were helpful on day one, but service dropped afterward; communication was hard even with a translator, and they seemed to know little about nearby attractions or how to assist guests. I’m aware the language barrier may have played a role, and the staff were generally polite, but overall it was extremely disappointing. I’ve stayed in many countries, and this is honestly one of the worst hotels I’ve experienced. Western travelers should look elsewhere. There’s very little to see or do nearby, and I never felt truly welcome. On a positive note, the staff helped me get cash and set up Alipay, which is essential for everyday payments in China. Despite that, I would not stay again or recommend this hotel to other international travelers. Breakfast was terrible with no good options.
