The staff were incredibly helpful, the view was amazing and refreshing, and even though I only had breakfast, it was delicious.
“最高でした”
The breakfast was tasty, and there was nothing else to note.
“Nice lodge”
The staff were very helpful.
“如果来野沢旅行,住这个山上的木屋是最好的选择,有仙境般的风光,有可口的佳肴,有舒服的汤泉…有你想要的一切。”
Upon arriving in Nozawa-mura, I dragged my luggage up a steep hill and felt utterly exhausted, but the view on the mountain left me speechless—so beautiful! I stayed at the wooden lodge for three nights, living a paradise-like life that was quiet and comfortable. The proprietress cooked very tasty and plentiful meals, and each of the three days offered different cuisine—Japanese and Western, both excellent. The family at the inn were very friendly; despite language barriers, they took great care of me and even sent me to the station.
“A quiet off-season mountain lodge with leisurely walks amidst nature, and excellent onsens.”
Naoko-san and Masao-san looked after me well, giving me a lift to the summer bamboo shoot festival on my arrival night (I drove the other nights once I got used to the area). Each morning they also made a delicious home‑cooked breakfast for me. I had planned to stay only two nights but added a third because I liked the location and the lodging. I can see that in winter it will be much busier. The lodge is a little far from the town centre, and the uphill spot will be tough if you walk—it sits right beside the ski slopes. I chose it for that reason: I wanted a quiet stay away from the still fairly busy town, right in the middle of the summer slopes covered with greenery, crops, and wildflowers. If you need transport, you can arrange it with Naoko‑san and Masao‑san.
