“Great stopover in Shepton Mallet”
Parking was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful; the rooms were clean, with great showers and comfortable beds, though the Wi‑Fi inside the rooms was a bit weak while it was strong in the pub area.
Mould covered everything—curtains, bathroom, bedroom wallpaper, and the floor—making the place feel old and not worth the price at all.
“I would rather sleep in a tent in a blizzard !”
It was absolutely filthy: flies swarmed the rooms, both alive and dead, and the smell was overwhelmingly of cigarettes and other unpleasant odors; overall hygiene was very poor and the condition of the place was completely unacceptable.
The space was spacious, clean, and well equipped, and the room was quiet, but the pub shut early on Sunday night, so we couldn’t get a drink after 10 pm and we didn’t know about it.
“It was a pleasant stay in a budget hotel.”
The bed was comfortable, the location was convenient, and it was quiet, but the room and furnishings were fairly dated.
