The spot is perfect, less than two minutes on foot from the bus station in the center of Trincomalee, close to all tourist attractions, the seafront, shopping streets, and the market, yet on a quiet street with a garden. The free water and bananas were highly appreciated, and the cleanliness was impeccable.

The room was clean and close to the train station, but the air conditioning barely worked, the bathroom was tiny, and checking in was a hassle because no one was there to open the door or answer the phone, so we had to go to another nearby hotel with the same name.
