“Would not stay there again”

The shower and en suite were great, and there was plenty of storage while the beds were comfortable. Communication after booking was awful – emails about breakfast and meals went unanswered. When we arrived, the staff didn’t seem prepared for us. The bedding hadn’t been changed; when we turned the duvets back, one bed had a soiled bottom sheet that looked like blood. We asked for fresh bedding but only received new bottom sheets. The carpet was stained and could have been cleaned. No food or meals were available.

“Very Very disappointing and am seeking some sort of a refund”

Nothing significant disappointed me, but the pub was closed all weekend so breakfast was nonexistent. The pub could have stayed open; that would have been a good start. I ended up traveling to Bakewell for meals, so I might as well have booked a place there.

Everything was peaceful, relaxing, clean, and welcoming, with a big car park, nice garden, and lots of windows. The staff were very welcoming. The only downside was the speed of traffic coming through the lovely village of Youlgrave.

“Ideal location for long walks and a pub lunch”

The location is ideal, but the property looked uncared for with weeds everywhere, and the pub seemed about to close.

“Comfortable in a great location”

The location was excellent with plenty of parking, and the room was very clean and comfortable, featuring attractive farm‑theme décor. The kitchen wasn’t working, so we had to find meals elsewhere. The price was fairly high at £156 per night.
