The staff were helpful, the hotel is close to the railway station if you need it, the room was adequate, and the continental breakfast was fine; there aren’t many restaurants nearby, but there are plenty of take‑away spots if that’s what you prefer.

The door to the room wouldn’t lock, the toilet mirror was broken, there was a lot of noise from the upstairs neighbors, and at night there was noise from street‑thieves fighting on the roof outside.

The reception was very welcoming, the owner accommodated our request to check in at 11 am, the location is great—close to the train station and the city centre—and we’ll be back next year for the big Saint‑Cordon tour.
