“Homely but needs a good clean.”
The place feels like home, letting us cook and relax. It sits halfway up the island, close to many great activities and good diving spots, and there are plenty of pots, pans and a big fridge. The kitchen and bathroom were dirty, with clutter like empty cans and bottles that could have been cleared to make more room. We didn’t know how to empty the bins, so they kept getting full; the house couldn’t fix that. I read that Naha is 28 km away, but didn’t realize it would take 1.5 hours to drive.
“Excellent!”
The private room is amazing for the price. The space is ample, clean, and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. There’s a FamilyMart nearby, free Wi‑Fi, TV, a washer (with detergent!), dryer, air‑conditioning, and the free drinks are incredible! The posters with the owner’s directions are artistic.
“편안한 느낌”
I received parking instructions before check‑in, which was handy. Three cars can park, but it doesn’t seem all are available to guests and large cars may struggle. The second floor is a bit of a climb if you have a lot of luggage. The fridge, dishes, seasonings, and especially the extra towels are all there. The only dryer is a fan‑only model, but it blows hard even in cold mode, which is a plus. When only female guests were staying, the owner seemed to avoid eye contact, which made me feel more comfortable. The rooms are spacious. I didn’t use the washing machine, but the mix for miso soup was on hand. The only issue was a lot of dust on the TV stand.
Overall a good stay. The room was large enough for our luggage and, despite being a guesthouse, it was very quiet in the evenings, so we weren’t woken at night. The common areas, especially the bathroom, were somewhat dirty and the location felt quite remote; with a car it’s fine, but without one it might be a bit tricky to get around.
“大満足!”
Number one is unbeatable in terms of value. It’s not too far from the wedding venue in Yudani, the floors are spotless, the linens feel freshly washed, and there are mirrors at key spots with plenty of storage. It’s a good fit for people living a typical Japanese lifestyle, and for those who like a nice apartment‑style hotel. Those who want to cook freely can do so, and it’s great for allergy sufferers. There’s no bathtub, but showers are available. The town’s public bath is a 10‑minute drive away. The outside balcony could use something to add a cleaner feel; I wonder if the water pools during typhoons? I’d love to give the deck a brush.
