We were denied entry because they had a permanent resident in the room even though it was listed as available, and we’re still waiting for a refund; everything else was rude staff who didn’t follow through on cancellation promises.

The room smelled like a dead fox and I couldn’t breathe normally without opening all windows and doors; the stench was terrible and there were no advertised amenities.

We had booked this room a few days ahead, planned to check in around 9‑10 pm while we were out at a party, but had no response to calls, texts or emails until 11:30 pm when staff informed us the room was double‑booked and we couldn’t stay. Panic set in, we reached out to customer service for a replacement or a nearby room, but around midnight we received an email that the nearest available room was in GATWICK LONDON—far from Southampton—and all trains were halted. We scoured several hotels for accommodation, none had availability, so we spent the night in a Premiere Inn waiting area without sleep, had to take the day off work, and almost got fired. In short, do not book this room; it was a complete waste of time. We eventually received a refund a few days later, but it was a disaster.
