Eight out of ten. The house was lovely, the hosts were very attentive, and the town itself was a pleasure to visit.

Le Chai turned out to be a fantastic place to stay. We were greeted warmly and unexpectedly upgraded to ‘La Suite’, a superb apartment loaded with luxury. Breakfast was fine, and we could use the terrace behind the building, which opens onto a park‑like garden a bit higher than the house that we’re also allowed to use. The only downside was that there were a lot of mosquitoes in the garden in the morning; we didn’t see or hear them, but they bit us hard.

The welcome was excellent in a beautifully restored historic building. The rooms were comfortable with lovely décor, the bedding was very good, and the bathroom was gorgeous—no noise at all. However, I needed an extra power outlet close to the bed to plug in my phone charger, so I had to unplug a bedside lamp to make room for it.
