The location is excellent by the lake and surrounded by flowers, yet there is no hot water, the room was not entirely clean, and several repairs are needed.

The hotel had a lovely view of Flores and the staff were very helpful. However, you need a boat service for any travel, which you must pay for at certain times. There was no restaurant service because of upcoming renovations. In the room, there was no hook to hang towels or to leave clothes and suitcases.

The hostel was very clean, with a superb view. Small shops were a 5‑minute walk away. The room was clean, and the air‑conditioning worked at night. Laundry could be done for 40Q and the staff were welcoming. I would not recommend staying here for 2–3 days because the hostel’s boat is paid for except between 8 h and 16 h, so heading out for dinner or a morning visit to Tikal adds extra costs, and there is almost nothing to do on this side of Flores.
