The hotel sits right in the city centre and the room was cozy and comfortable with a bathroom that was a good size. Parking was an issue – there’s a paid lot across the street that only accepts phone payments, so I couldn’t leave my car overnight. Minor inconvenience.

Breakfast was basic – cereal, yoghurt, fruit, and toasted bread – which was fine for me and I didn’t need anything else. The location was very good: quiet, close to the station, and very pleasant. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom could use an upgrade – the shower didn’t drain properly.

The location was great and there was plenty of inexpensive parking nearby. The receptionist, a young lady, was adorable and extremely friendly. The only problem was the lack of sound insulation – we were kept awake early on by someone in the room above us walking in their boots and moving furniture. I guess you get what you pay for. For the price, the room did its job for two nights, but avoid the ground‑floor rooms and bring earplugs!

The room was small but still comfortable, and we slept well; it matched the price we paid and was perfect for exploring Chepstow and the Wye valley. Breakfast was included and consisted of cereal and toast, not the continental spread advertised, which actually suited us better. We were worried about some negative reviews that might have deterred us before booking, but this B&B is not a modern hotel where you might pay £110+ for a room and £15 per person for breakfast. The staff were great and the stay was fine for our two‑day break. We dined there one evening and the pizza was excellent. The only downside was parking: the listing said there was parking, but there isn’t any; the nearest pay‑and‑display lot is on a busy one‑way road and costs £2.30 per 2 hours, or you can walk 300 yards to a 24‑hour park for £2.30 per day. So you had to move your car a lot to avoid fines or an early‑morning rush.
