The owner is lovely, and the rooftop terrace offers stunning views of the citadel in the neighboring building. Getting to the guesthouse requires driving on narrow roads – doable, but it’s best to park near the guesthouse and walk or take a bus for everything else. A bus will take you to the Ephesus site on the main road. The room is small, the bathroom is fine, but it doesn’t offer much privacy from the rest of the room.

The dining room is very cozy and the breakfast is delicious. The terrace has a fantastic view and is very well located. Mrs. Shazel is divine and super kind. I booked one night but ended up staying longer.

The unique décor makes it feel like sleeping in a museum. The reception and stay were very welcoming.

The "Ottoman"‑style room felt a bit like a grandma’s house, which we liked. The bathroom and bed were clean, considering Turkish standards for this price range. In our experience in Turkey, the breakfast could be improved; the third‑floor lounge is very nice. Arrive with the exact cash needed to pay for the room, otherwise you’ll have trouble with the change. The bathroom is tiny and has a small door.
