We’re not staying here for the first time. We like the location – the neighbourhood is quiet and calm, yet within walking distance of Beijing Lu, the waterfront, and the electronics market. Getting anywhere is easy, and there are plenty of places to eat. The rooms are spacious, well‑sound‑proofed, with good mattresses and linens. Breakfast offers a decent selection. On the 13th floor there’s a self‑service laundry where you can wash, dry, and iron your clothes if needed. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The price rises sharply during the Canton Fair.

“Hope hotel could get an upgrade . At least make the room has a clean carpet .”

The hotel isn’t far from the city centre. The receptionist and the cleaner are kind and helpful, always responding quickly and fixing problems. The room was poor – the carpet was covered in cigarette burn marks, the curtains were damaged and fell down, and the lights were dim. There’s only one elevator available.

The room was truly spacious and comfortable, with a nice view from the 14th floor of the surrounding skyscrapers. Every day a bottle of water is offered. There’s a kettle and tea and coffee available. Breakfast is excellent, both in variety and quantity. The sweets, especially the famous Pastel de Nata, are great, and there are also savory dishes, including the essential noodles. The location is good – ten minutes’ walk to the metro stop, well connected to the railway station (Guangzhounan) and the city’s main attractions. The area around the hotel isn’t particularly bright or lively, so it’s better to use the metro to reach nearby Beijing Lu.

The location is great, close to the bus terminal and about 1 km from the subway, and booking a taxi is easy because the streets aren’t too crowded. The room is fully equipped, and the hotel offers a self‑laundry room which is very handy; the staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu changes daily, but there is no ice for drinks, which seems to be a Chinese custom. On arrival the air‑conditioning takes a while to cool the room, and the lobby feels a bit dated; the floor rug in the room is old, but the daily housekeeping is very clean and the room is fully equipped.
