The staff’s welcome, the restaurant, the pools and the garden, and our lodge were all great. The beach access was a bit disappointing – it’s hard to swim there.

We spent 20 amazing days in Zanzibar, finishing with a wonderful 7‑night stay at SeVi Boutique Hotel in Tropical Garden Bungalow No. 6. The bungalow was spacious and very comfortable, with a large bed, a mini‑fridge for cold water, and a lovely evening turndown service. The location is breathtaking, offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean and Mnemba Island with plenty of water activities nearby. The entire staff—from reception and security to the restaurant, kitchen, and spa teams—was incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive. Leaving with big hugs from the team truly says it all! The food was delicious across the board. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade bread, fresh juice, and marmalade. We especially appreciated their focus on using seasonal ingredients. I already miss the calming sounds of the palm trees and ocean waves! A few minor areas could use attention: Front Entrance: The pathway/road at the front gate is quite rough and dangerous to navigate, especially when arriving at night. Repairing this would make for a much safer and better first impression. Shower Privacy: The outdoor shower could benefit from a bit more privacy screening. Menu Accuracy: While the food was great and seasonal sourcing is wonderful, the menu should be updated to remove out‑of‑season items (like mangoes when they aren’t in season). Dolphin Safaris: While ocean excursions are widely offered nearby, the local dolphin tours felt a bit too crowded and invasive (“dolphin hunting”), so we preferred stick to snorkeling and visiting the sandbanks instead.

The menu is always the same, about 7 options, and there’s no side vegetable. Mosquitoes are everywhere in September, so you can’t use the outdoor area.

The structure is very pretty and well maintained, with a tropical guard and several small pools. The bungalows are very large and well furnished in a Zanzibar style. They have air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a small fridge. There’s an outdoor veranda with a little pool and a double hammock with mattress and pillows, great for relaxing while listening to the sea. The kitchen is excellent and the staff is very kind and proactive. In the rooms there are a lot of mosquitoes that don’t allow you to stay there freely unless you stay in bed under the mosquito net after spraying the poison. The bungalow is very large, two‑storey, and there are many entry points for mosquitoes. Regular pest control and proper closing of open spaces with mosquito nets should be done. The beach is not private and it isn’t even nice because it isn’t cleaned of algae. In addition, there are about twenty little boats that take tourists snorkeling that don’t allow swimming. Don’t go to see the dolphins because there are at least 50 boats chasing them and it’s violence against them. Don’t even go to the sandbank because it’s very crowded with boats and they sell you everything. By the way they also bring those poor little monkey‑shapes so tourists can take photos. VERY UNETHICAL. If you pay at least $150 you can snorkel in front of Mnemba atoll and there you see beautiful fish, coral, and starfish, but you can’t access the island because it’s private.
