“Dreadful Löwen!”

The hotel sits right in the centre, which is the only thing that impressed me. There was no fan or any cooling, so I had to leave the windows open and was immediately plagued by flies, plus the curtains were so short that passers‑by could see straight into the room.

“Für 1 Nacht ohne Ansprüche ganz ok”

Checking in was a breeze thanks to the key‑safe, and the restaurant staff were really helpful when they realized there was only one pillow, blanket and towel for the two of us. The room was tidy and fine for a single night – it’s not a fancy resort, but it worked well for us after a birthday celebration when we didn’t want to go home. The downside is the price, which feels a bit steep given the limited accommodation choices in the area. Overall, decent for a short stay.

The place is conveniently located, but the lack of on‑site staff made everything a hassle. Calls were routed to a contact in Germany, and messages on the booking site went unanswered, while the room didn’t have a single usable outlet – I even had to unplug the light to get any power. The Wi‑Fi wasn’t advertised and barely worked, the water pressure was pitiful, and the bedside lamp kept flickering. Not what you expect for the price.

“Enttäuscht”

I booked and paid for a room, but when I arrived there was no way to actually get inside – the front desk never let me check in. Because of that I can’t really give a proper rating. It was a frustrating experience.

The hotel sits in the historic centre of Mellingen and the room seemed to have an air‑conditioning unit, although I didn’t need to test it in the mild weather. Unfortunately the Wi‑Fi in my room was almost non‑existent, probably because the router is on the other side of several walls, and with only three rooms left open due to renovations they required us to add breakfast – the 8:30 start was far too early for a business traveler.
