Truly amazing. The 10/10 score is absolutely deserved. The owners are very kind and really made the homestay a ‘little piece of heaven’. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The views are stunning and the swimming pool is great. Our stay significantly exceeded our expectations (too bad we can’t score a 12/10). Great breakfast. If you are into it, do a hike in this region (check AllTrails or Komoot). The peace and tranquility of the location definitely has its charm and is a big plus. Though, keep in mind that you need a car (or bike) to travel to restaurants / a supermarket. There is a local restaurant close by but most likely you have to travel 10-20 minutes by car. We knew so for us it was perfectly fine

The accommodation blends nature and comfort, the old and the modern. The rooms are magnificent, with the charm of stone highlighted by sophisticated lighting. The room opens directly onto the garden, we are surrounded by breathtaking nature. The simple but generous breakfast, consisting only of local products (I haven’t had fruit with such flavor in a long time!!!), and the view and tranquility… magnificent. The hosts were very attentive and helped us manage our somewhat particular situation with a lot of kindness and understanding. Beware, there are two Vilas Marim in the region, one 8 minutes from Vila Real and the other 1 hour, in the middle of nothing with rather complicated access. We didn’t check the full address of the lodging (our fault) and chose it specifically for its accessibility (we came by public transport / Uber), but it turned out to be the other Vila Marim. The hosts welcomed us with care but were very surprised because without a clean car, it is impossible to stay on site (the only means of transport is a taxi that comes from the neighboring village, there is nothing around by foot and Uber does not exist). With a lot of kindness, they offered us to stay only the first night and refund the rest, so we could find an alternative. With much regret we left this magical place. Thank you again to Helena and Luís for their agility and help. We absolutely recommend this lodging to anyone who has a private car and is looking primarily for calm and a splendid setting.

The breakfast was excellent, there was a bit of everything to meet each person’s taste. Many of the products were regional, which I thought was a great idea. There was bread, pastries, yogurt, toppings, milk, coffee, juice, fruit… Both the room and all the spaces were clean and tidy. Finally, the friendliness of Mr. Luís, always very attentive, everything done to detail. Everything was perfect :) I would not change anything.

Helena and Luis greet you in a stunning setting, an ancient building beautifully renovated with taste, high‑quality products, and a wonderful pool and view. Our room had everything we needed: it was very clean, featured a spacious bathroom. A heartfelt thank you.
