A cozy spot that's easy to reach on foot from Grasmere, and the host was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the continental breakfast—just oats with berries, plenty of fresh fruit, and a chocolate muffin; a toaster would have been a nice addition.

We stayed in The Cottage, which was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed; the location and staff were great extras.

Everything ran smoothly without the need to see anyone, though someone was available if required; the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating right from the booking stage.

The location was very convenient, especially for a morning dip in the lake, and the complimentary breakfast and coffee/tea were always on hand. The evening badger feeding was a special treat, and the accommodation itself was very comfortable.
