“Niet weer”

In many years I’ve never experienced this. The former owner probably died (photo at the reception) and the next generation followed her lead. The rooms are very dated, but above all dirty. You’re thrown back 40 years. Mobile air‑con with hose out the window, everywhere spider webs, filthy bathroom with unfresh towels, I just think let them dry. We also couldn’t escape the idea that the bedding was also used. We skipped breakfast. A price of €116 per night is really below par. Unworthy.

“Goed, ontspannen en we voelden ons echt welkom.”

The location is beautiful, just outside Diepenheim. The owner was very hospitable and friendly, we came back late from cycling and could luckily still eat, very nice! Our bikes could be stored in the shed, thank God. The rooms are dated, but okay, and there was air‑con. Breakfast was not extensive, but enough.

Boring and a very small shower. Old worn carpet everywhere. Very simple breakfast. Had to boil water for tea, simple slices of bread, not tasty. Also unwrapped rusks. Curtains in the bedroom looked pointless. Not worth repeating and very pricey. Everything

The spot is fantastic, especially the peace and lovely surroundings. The owners, a man and a woman, are genuinely friendly and welcoming, which more than makes up for the visible upkeep issues and somewhat dated décor, though they’re aware of it. The place is simple yet clean and hygienic. If you arrive without having met the owners first, you might pause and think “okay?” because of the paintwork and dated furnishings, but once you see how tidy everything is, you quickly forget the initial concerns and enjoy a great stay. The price‑quality ratio is excellent.
