The location was convenient, but I can’t recommend this place. Our stay was a nightmare with several problems that made it hard to relax. The air conditioner took about 8 hours to cool the room, and it was scorching and humid. We were shown two other rooms, yet both had the same AC issue. On top of that, the shower didn’t work at all, which we found out in the evening, and the bed was broken, with one side not properly secured. The noise level was high, making it almost impossible to sleep comfortably. We tried calling the owner at 8 pm, but there was no answer and no one ever called us back, even though we had received prompt responses before when we booked tours and transfers. We also learned that no one was at reception after 6 pm, which is worrisome—there was no number to call in an emergency. The next day I contacted the owner to explain the issues and ask for a resolution and a discount to compensate for the poor experience, but I received no reply. Instead, the receptionist told us that the owner had said we could leave if we didn’t like it. The shower and the bed were fixed in the afternoon of our second day. This attitude toward paying guests is unacceptable. The problems with the room were serious, and the lack of communication, assistance, and willingness to resolve the situation made the experience even worse. I would not recommend this hotel. Basic amenities should work, guests should be able to sleep comfortably, and management should be available and willing to address legitimate complaints. Sadly, none of these expectations were met during our stay.

“nice hotel with great breakfast and good location”

The location is very good on the main “street” of Tortuguero, close to the national park entrance, and the breakfast is very good.

The room is huge and clean, the bathroom is large, and the breakfast is good with several options, one of which is on a very pretty terrace. They provided us with water‑boot rentals (4 € / day) because at this time of year it was impossible to visit the park without boots since everything was muddy from the rains, and we used them on the nighttime walk to the “deshice” as well. The only downside is that you can only choose one breakfast option and can’t repeat it. The lighting in the room and bathroom is very poor.

“Agradable y ascética.”

The staff were very professional and quickly fixed a small fault in one of the rooms, making our stay easier. The room lacked a wardrobe, a bedside table on each bed, and the power sockets were poorly placed.
