The kitchen was tiny, the surroundings were shabby and the whole place felt like a garage sale, nothing else worth mentioning.

We stayed in the 3‑bedroom room as a couple. Classic furnishings but still pleasant. The amenities were excellent; everything needed was there. Signs were also in English explaining things. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. Even if he didn’t speak English, he knew the key words like “Luggage” or “Check‑in.” Communication worked hand‑and‑foot. The hotel was also very central for major sights and subway access. The building is a bit run down and sometimes it’s unclear if that’s the building itself or just a lack of cleaning. The duvet cover was just a sheet wrapped over the blanket. The blinds were very light‑permeable and we could hear street noise. Not very loud but audible. Still, you can’t complain about the value for money.

The location was great, the air conditioner kept it cool, and I met some memorable people like Y from Mairuzaki and a brother‑sister pair from Salisbury, but there were mosquitoes, the upstairs guest’s movements made it feel like a level‑3 tremor for the one below, and there was only one shower room.

The hotel is close to downtown, but overall it was a bad experience.

The owner was very friendly and the spot was convenient, yet some areas smelled and were dirty, the bathroom was fine otherwise.
