There was nothing positive. The window was screwed shut and couldn’t be opened. The water glasses were misaligned, each cup different. The room had many ants, a low water tap, and a water tap that protruded outside so hot water could burn you. The fridge was plugged in but had no fan to cool it. The bedside lamp didn’t work. The clock stopped when the battery died and no one replaced it. The hallway light was dim, and when you stepped outside it was pitch dark; the motion sensor in the tiny hallway was weak, taking a long time to turn on, staying on for a short while, then shutting off. The lobby on floor 1 was open wide and had no air conditioning. By evening the coconut ice cream was stacked across the entire hotel lobby. At a price over 800k đ per night during the low season in August it was too expensive. The location was 300 m from the square, so you wouldn’t see anything.

Thuy Anh was nice. The location is excellent on the main street of Cat Ba. All the staff are nice and helpful. It’s not far from the beach, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and good value for money. However, a lot of building is going on where the harbour used to be, so the views are obstructed.

“A basic hotel that was very clean and had lovely staff.”

The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. There was no tea or coffee available, and the breakfast wasn’t very nice.
