The building was a central, old‑school charm. The noise from loud music until 1.30 PM made the bed shake and made it impossible to sleep. Tobacco smell seeped upstairs, even into our room later at night, and there was a crack in the wall with light leaking from the next door (maybe where the tobacco came from?). Wifi only worked for a very short while and we couldn’t pay to extend it; the staff explained they could do nothing. The TV remote wouldn’t work and the staff said they would show us but never did. The toilet was very far from the room, and the cost was high.

The upstairs rooms were nicely finished and the staff were friendly and helpful. Each room came with a fan, air‑conditioning, a small fridge, polished floorboards and carpet. We enjoyed a decent meal in the downstairs dining area, and the shared bathrooms—separate for ladies and men—were modern and clean. The verandahs were well set up with tables and chairs for meals or drinks, and there was a communal jug, a small fridge and a microwave. The only downside was the TV in the room that wouldn’t work at all, and the accommodation manager tried but couldn’t fix it.

The location is good, but there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. They were available on a veranda around the room but no one told us about them. The TV didn’t work; two different staff members tried to fix it with no result. Noise from passing tenants was annoying.
