“Decent room for a decent price with quite a few issues but friendly and helpful staff”

The address was confusing: the pin on the booking page placed the hotel in the city center, but when I searched for directions it appeared slightly outside the center, which was inconvenient since we only had a short stay and chose the place for its proximity. I couldn’t tell whether the pin or the actual address was correct, so I assumed the latter because Google Maps located the hotel at that address. I reached out to the hotel three days before arrival, but never received a reply. I also tried contacting them again and couldn’t get through. I was told to wait 24 hours for a response, which never materialised. I wanted to cancel but the booking didn’t allow it. The confusion worsened when I tried ordering a Grab taxi; the app directed me to the pin’s location, offering a cheaper fare, so I wasn’t sure whether to pay more for the slightly longer distance. I suspect the hotel changed locations at some point, which needs clarification. The room itself was fine, though the mattresses were extremely hard, harder than any I’ve experienced elsewhere. The staff were pleasant and helpful, so no complaints there. The room could have been cleaner: there were several dead insects in the bathroom and a few spiders on the ceiling. There appeared to be a hole in the roof, where water might have leaked before, but it didn’t during our stay. Overall, the room was nice and modern, as advertised.

The staff were friendly, the room was clean, quiet, and reasonably priced; I’ll definitely return if I come back.
