The facilities were kept clean, yet a smell that seemed to come from another guest eating in their room drifted down the hallway. It cleared up in the morning, but installing a vent in the hallway so that air doesn’t leak from the rooms to the corridor seems like a good idea.

The staff and cleanliness were good, but the room was very noisy; you could hear cars on the street, the windows weren’t sound‑proof, and most of all the bed was broken— I slept on the springs.

I stayed for 10 days and had no problems at all. The staff were incredibly kind and the atmosphere was warm. The building is old but has been renovated, and the cleaning is meticulous, giving it a very clean feel. The rooms are small but that’s fine. There’s a TV and Wi‑Fi. The shower room is clean, with shampoo and conditioner, and no hair is left behind. The toilet is clean. The shared kitchen has almost everything—pots, plates, etc.—and you can use it freely. I wrote my room number on a note and left it in the fridge. Foreign guests came one after another, and everyone was nice, even when passing each other in the hallway. The outside is quiet and a calm place. South‑Chikusa Station is about a 10‑minute walk, so the transport links are good. I’d like to stay here again! The noise does leak, so late‑night check‑in voices and footsteps in the hallway are audible, but personally I had no problem with that.
