“Underground windowless rooms”

I paid a low price, but the room was underground, windowless, and felt airless. The sheets were dirty, hair lay in the bed, and mascara stained the pillowcase. The bathroom light never worked, and despite asking, no one fixed it during our two‑day stay. The location was far from the town center, in a residential/industrial zone, though Yandex offers cheap transport to get around quickly.

I had a place to sleep. The room was filled with cigarette smoke from a nearby shop (over‑the‑top), a cockroach ran across the floor, and there was no air conditioning.

There was no air conditioning, making it too hot and uncomfortable to sleep. Speaking with staff was a challenge because nobody spoke English; we had to translate every word. We waited almost an hour before checking in because they couldn’t locate our reservation in their system. Thankfully a local tour guide stayed with us and negotiated a room for the night. The only bright spot was that the guide had arranged a Yandex ride for us in the morning, and the reception helped book the transfer.

The price and renovation were good. The hotel is in a basement; the windows are supposedly there but they don’t face the street—our room’s windows opened onto a smoking area, so whenever someone smoked, the smoke drifted into the room even with the windows closed. Be prepared for that if you don’t smoke! Soundproofing is zero; you can hear the manager watching TikToks at the desk at night.

The hotel is great, everything is clean, there are two kitchens, and a laundry room. Booking through the platform makes it very cheap!
