“Noch am Anfang für westliche Touristen”
The bungalow’s location was lovely. The staff were friendly but somewhat helpless, as no one spoke English and the translation program made conversation difficult. The restaurant supposedly should have been open all the time, yet we felt that the many guests from the village or surrounding area always had hot pot. We couldn’t order from the menu and ended up with rice and vegetables, tofu or chicken, and for breakfast an instant pho soup (tasted good). The main issue was that they apparently weren’t yet geared toward western tourists, didn’t speak English, and didn’t know basic things. Hygiene with cutlery, table cleaning, and a clean menu were not great. We asked on the day before departure if we could pay with a Visa credit card, but it turned out they didn’t know about it. Luckily we had US dollars, which they accepted after some phone calls. Maybe suitable for young travelers for one or two nights, but not for German groups. We’re 60, very experienced travelers, and left a day early. For Asian tourists it’s fine.
