The Hosteller Lansdowne

“Staff is polite (as it is Uttarakhand), food is fine and room is good. Overall good.”

The location was good. The thing is it is far away from Lansdowne which means you are 1/2 an hour away from main market. So, all the attraction points are away. But here is the catch because it is away, it is calm and also, scenic, and majorly not disturbing because there is cantonment nearby. The power cuts. Even though it is mentioned while booking, the downfall is that if you want to charge your phone during power cut hours, you have to go to the reception area. I think that is not comfortable. Also, Wi-Fi is not that strong in the dorm on some beds. Which means you have to sit and make sure the curtain of the bed is open for Wi-Fi. All else is good for sure :)

The staff were very good and helpful, and the setting was peaceful, but I disliked the hostel’s services: the food ordering system is inconvenient—café orders cannot be placed directly—and there are no activities in the hostel.

Worth a visit—peaceful, well‑maintained, and the location is great, but everything being digital can get a bit annoying at times.
