The location is decent, but the toilet seat looked extremely unhygienic, disintegrating, bubbled, and covered with what seemed like bacteria. The bathroom was very old and rotting, with holes in the baseboard. There was no soundproofing between rooms or from outside, so it was very noisy. In the morning ants swarmed over my child’s clothes on the chair – disgusting. I’ll never return. It cost $200 a night for this shanty. Half of the parking spots were unavailable, so I couldn’t park in front of the room.

Getting to Christchurch was a very easy flat walk. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff were helpful. It’s very close to the stadium, which might matter for some and be great for others. Thrieve Cafe across the road served an excellent and great‑value breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and when the cot didn’t lift as expected, they fetched another one and set it up for us. I would stay here again.
