“Lovely hotel but prioritising style instead of comfort”

The former chateau‑style hotel is beautifully decorated in the quiet countryside, and the breakfast and dinner were both great. The staff were kind and friendly. Our room was pleasant and spacious, though the two chairs in the sitting area were not very comfortable. The hotel has no lift; only stairs are available, and there are no ground‑floor rooms. My room was on the top level, requiring a climb up three flights of spiral stairs, which is an issue for people with mobility problems or asthma. I didn’t see any mention of the lack of lifts when I booked, so that should be highlighted up front. The corridor lighting at night, especially near my room, was supposed to be automatic and motion‑activated but often failed, leaving us to walk in near darkness until we reached the room.

“Good in parts very bad in others”

The location was nice and the food was good. We had to switch rooms because the shower unit flooded, a known issue that they still assigned us to that room.

We loved the location, just 15‑20 minutes by car from Angers, which is why we always dined at the Chateau, spending a fair amount but it was worth it because the meals were consistently excellent (Italian chef!). The pool could use some improvement, especially since it’s covered at night. There’s a fenced area with animals where you can walk around, a beautiful garden, and a lovely maze to explore. Board games and artworks are available. The room was very spacious and gorgeous. Overall, a wonderful stay that I’d return to. Prices were a bit high. Some work was underway that wasn’t mentioned on the site or on Booking.

“Even bijkomen na een lange rondreis”

The hotel is beautifully situated, has a cozy atmosphere, excellent facilities, a lovely shower, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. After all the glowing reviews about breakfast, we found it underwhelming and basically what you’d expect from a reasonably priced hotel.
