The staff went above and beyond; they had told me at first that breakfast wouldn’t accommodate a gluten‑free diet, but when I got there they surprised me with a gluten‑free personal breakfast! Their hospitality is outstanding, and the rooms are very peaceful and calm, though there aren’t many restaurants nearby, so bring something for the end of the day.

We hit the highlight of our Japan trip here, far better than expected. We had our own onsen and a stunning mountain view that felt almost unreal, complete with a traditional Japanese floor seat at a low table. The setting is perfect for unwinding after Tokyo before heading to Kyoto or Osaka, and the staff were extremely friendly, making us feel truly welcomed. The breakfast wasn’t very extensive, but we were already aware of that and still appreciated that something was offered.

The staff were friendly, the room was beautiful, and the amenities were nice. Food options were limited, and the location is a bit off Hakone, though buses run regularly.

The experience was incredible and fully immersive; the property sits in the countryside but is easily reachable by bus to Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji. The rooms are very beautiful and spacious with mountain views, and the onsen is very pleasant. You should know there’s no shower in the room, and the futon might be uncomfortable for some. Breakfast could be more authentic and varied for a truly immersive experience.
