This Holiday Inn Express was the worst I've ever been to; the carpet was stained, the room had two standard beds instead of two queens, the toilet rattled when flushed, and the shower fixture almost detached from the wall—very poor.

The price-to-room ratio seemed excessive, but the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

Everything was enjoyable, especially the tasty breakfast; however, it felt pricey, the property was old, and the room was too small for the cost.

The location was convenient, right next to the bike path heading toward Monterey or Castroville and close to a nature preserve, and Smart & Final was a block away; breakfast offered a great selection. However, rooms were cramped, the fridge lacked a freezer, the shower didn’t drain, windows wouldn’t open (making it stuffy), lighting was weak, construction on the parking lot caused loud machinery from 7am, the hot tub wasn’t warm enough, and overall it was too expensive for the value.
